Upcoming Campaigns - Africa
As you read this today, we have teams of organizers in the field, getting ready for upcoming CfaN Gospel Campaigns in Africa. Logistics for our open-air Gospel Campaigns begin months before the actual event. The first step is for campaign organizers to head to the countries we’re looking at, and scout for good locations.
How do we choose good campaign locations?
There are many steps that go into choosing the next place to conduct a CfaN Gospel Campaign. Step one is prayer! There’s no point going if the Lord has not gone ahead of us. No matter how talented or experienced our organizers are, Africa has a way of throwing serious challenges and obstacles at us every step of the way. I don’t think there’s ever been a CfaN Campaign that hasn’t needed a miracle – more likely multiple miracles! – along the way. So, being confident that we are moving in line with the Lord’s will is crucial. We know that when it’s His plan, He will meet us in every moment of need.

Then comes the scouting, which includes meeting with local church leadership and discerning if it is the right timing for this particular place. Are they hungry for a move of God? Is cooperation and collaboration possible between the local denominations? Are churches enthusiastic about welcoming and discipling new converts?
And then there are many other practical questions to answer like, “Is it possible to get our trucks to this area?” and “How many people live in the villages around this town?” When all these factors have been looked at and prayed over, and we feel things lining up in the Spirit’s leading, we make the decision and start the actual organizing.
At the moment, we have organizers in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, or DRC (central Africa) and Angola (southwest Africa).
Kisangani, DRC – This time, we’re driving!

We are fast approaching the short window of dry weather in the DRC, where we are heading to the city of Kisangani for a CfaN Gospel Campaign in July. Here’s some cool CfaN history for you…
We’ve only been to Kisangani once, back in 1991. There’s a very good reason for that! Back then, it was impossible to drive there. When we held a CfaN Campaign with Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke there, we had to hire a plane and fly in everything that we needed. That epic adventure was called “Operation Phillip”, referencing the time in Acts when Phillip was miraculously transported after preaching to the eunuch.
Evangelist Bonnke felt so strongly that the Lord was leading us to go there – truly ‘the middle of nowhere’ – and the result was 35,000 documented decisions for Jesus! It was an amazing feat of logistics and dedication. But it was also an expensive and difficult thing, and so we have not been back for 25 years.
In the meantime, there are roads to this area, albeit untarred jungle roads which flood in the wet season – so this time, we are driving! Pastors in the area are very excited to have a Gospel Campaign after so long. Our organizers on the ground have begun meeting with pastors and setting up the local committees of church volunteers.
Please pray for continued favor with the authorities, and especially for the local churches as they go through training for their participation. Pray for the campaign organizers, for wisdom, discernment, safety and protection as they put all the pieces together.

Uige, Angola – Building on national impact
Angola is a nation that has seen tremendous upheaval over the last decades. After being a communist nation for years, and enduring the turmoil of a protracted civil war, it is now a time of building and peace for this nation. What an opportunity, as the country opens up, to sow Gospel seeds and make an eternal impact here.

CfaN Bootcamp graduate Evangelist Randy Roberts shared this update about the huge changes that have been happening in Angola since the first two Gospel Campaigns there in 2023.
“The church landscape has changed significantly. I've been told that this happened, in part, as a result of our first two gospel campaigns in 2023. In order to be a legal church, congregations must be part of what is called a “forum,” which essentially serves as an umbrella 501(c)(3) and connects churches with the government. When we arrived in 2023, there were only four of these forums, and many churches were “illegal” in the government’s eyes. However, as a result of the structure we put in place for the campaign, over 5,000 churches came together to form a new forum called LEA. They have now been officially recognized by the government and are a powerful force for Jesus in Angola.”

One of our CfaN Gospel Campaign Directors, Denis Artyushevskiy, shared: “What’s been helpful here in Uige is the reputation of the previous Gospel Campaigns we held in 2023 and 2024. The leaders are full of expectation and gratitude that we would come as far as Uige with our ministry – so much so that one of the key leaders who oversees a major platform stopped what he was doing in Luanda (the capital city), and drove seven hours to meet us to ensure that he and his churches in Uige are included in the preparations for the upcoming campaign from 16-19 July.”
Pray that this Gospel Campaign – and the next two in Angola, planned for September – build on this foundation, strengthening and expanding the church nationally. Pray for continued favor for permits and venues, and that the local churches will be unified and full of faith.

Watch this space – there’s more to come!
I will be sharing more plans with you soon. In addition to the DRC and Angola in July, we are planning two more campaigns in Angola in September, two in Ethiopia towards the end of the year, as well as campaigns in Nigeria, also late in the year.
Thank you for praying for us in the build-up to campaign season. There is much to be done, and we need provision for it all. So as well as praying for us, will you please prayerfully consider giving to CfaN this month, to help us see these Gospel Campaigns to fruition?
May the Lord richly bless you and your family for your commitment to sharing the Gospel!
Together with you for the Gospel,
Evangelist Daniel Kolenda
(and the CfaN team worldwide)
