Our Ultimate Mission

People talking about the call of God often quote Romans 11:29 which says, “For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.” There is however another side to the story because while God’s call may be irrevocable, no one is irreplaceable.

When Esau, “despised his birthright”, God gave it to his younger brother Jacob.

When God saw that Eli’s two spoiled sons had no regard for the Lord or His calling, God gave the priestly office to Samuel.

When King Saul disobeyed the Lord and hardened his heart time and time again God replaced him with a shepherd boy named David.

John the Baptist gave a sobering warning to the Jewish leadership of his day. He knew that, as part of God’s chosen people, they felt superior and irreplaceable. But in Matthew 3:9 John says, “Do not suppose that you can say to yourselves, 'We have Abraham for our father'; for I say to you that from these stones God is able to raise up children to Abraham”

The moral of the story is this – As Mordecai told Esther in Esther 4:14, if you wont do what you’re called to do God will use someone else, but you will be the looser.

My friend, we have been placed in this world for a purpose and that purpose it is the reason you were saved, it’s the reason you were born. You have come into the kingdom for such a time as this!

This is Daniel Kolenda
