Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you. 2 Thessalonians 3:16

With all that is happening in the world today, I think we can all agree that “peace” is uppermost in our minds. We long for peace – in our hearts, in our homes, and in our nations.

That yearning for peace is part of the image of God in us. In fact, the word “peace” appears over 400 times in the Bible. It’s not just something we want… it’s incredibly important to God!

But peace is not something we can manufacture for ourselves. True peace is not just acceptance, or calmness, or silence, or even lack of violence. True peace comes straight from the Lord. We know that, not only because Jesus said…

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)

…but also because peace is one of the fruits of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22). True peace is only possible when the Holy Spirit inhabits us. And the Bible is very clear about how to deal with lack of peace, in any area.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
(Philippians 4:6-7)

By prayer and petition

Did you notice that? By prayer and petition… It’s so straightforward. Here is our ironclad promise from the Lord (one of many) that when we pray, His peace will be released in every situation.

This year, for our annual CfaN Europe Prayer Campaign, we are praying for peace. I urge you to join us during the three days. Search your heart and see where there are areas in your life – and in the world – where God’s peace is needed. We would love for you to join in with our prayer teams during the livestream prayer sessions. But even if you can’t do that, make time each of those days to bring these situations to the Lord.

Pray for Peace – 23 – 25 May 2022

For the three days of this Prayer Campaign, each day will have a different focus. On Day One, the emphasis is on our own spiritual walk with the Lord. On Day Two, we’ll be praying into various areas of our lives and relationships. And on Day Three, we’re turning our attention outwards to our communities and the nations.

How to take part

Our CfaN Frankfurt team and Bootcamp graduates will be praying daily from 18h30 – 19h30, and you can join us for that liveon our Facebook page:

Peace with God

The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. Romans 8:6

On the first day, we are praying about issues that affect your relationship with God. These could be things like:

  • Unconfessed sin
  • Habits and addictions that separate you from God
  • Not spending time in prayer and reading the Word
  • Unbelief and doubt

Peace in my life

Strive for full restoration, encourage one another, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you. 2 Corinthians 13:11

Day Two is all about areas of our lives where we need to pray for the Lord’s peace. Some examples are:

  • Peace in my marriage
  • Peace in my family
  • Peace in my workplace
  • Peace in my friendships

Peace in the world

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God. Matthew 5:9

On Day Three, we will look beyond our own lives and circumstances, and pray for peace in our communities and in the nations. Which village, city or nation is on your heart? We want to pray with you for the Lord’s peace in those places.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. (Colossians 3:15)

Together with you in Jesus,
