A historic night – Lagos, Nigeria Day 5

Reinhard Bonnke’s Farewell to Africa – and a new season begins

Surely, when Reinhard Bonnke arrived in Africa in 1967, an unknown young preacher with a vision, he could never have imagined what his final sermon on African soil would be like, 50 years later. Tonight was that night, and this historic campaign meeting began with Reverend John Darku thanking all the bishops and leaders who served on dozens of committees to make this happen.

Daniel Kolenda: „It is almost impossible for me to describe what today was like in Lagos, Nigeria. But this video might help! We thank all of the people, ministers, staff, volunteers, Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke, and above all, Jesus!”

Then, with the joyful sounds of heartfelt worship still ringing in our ears, Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke stepped forward to preach to his last African audience, a great crowd of 750,000 people. It was an emotional, memorable moment for all those who have stood with his ministry for the last 50 years. From Luke 20:19-25, Reinhard spoke on the challenge Jesus answered so well; “Give Caesar what belongs to Caesar and give God what belongs to God.” The Evangelist showed how the devil tries to destroy God’s image in us with sin, alcohol, drugs and addictions – but through salvation, God’s image is restored in us. As he gave the altar call for salvation, thousands upon thousands of hands went up, and the counselors rallied to help the new converts.
