What comes to mind when you think of Naples? Perhaps the seaside charm of a city in southern Italy that sits on the Bay of Naples. Or the ancient history of nearby Mount Vesuvius, the still-active volcano that destroyed the neighboring town of Pompeii almost 2,000 years ago. Maybe the extraordinary beauty of nearby Amalfi Coast or the island of Capri. Whatever the case, the short answer would surely be, “La Dolce Vita” – the sweet life.
What a blessing to find the same beauty and sweetness in the local body of Christ during the “Naples Shall be Saved Conference” Oct 1 – 2 2016. These powerful meetings were hosted by Pastor Ciro Saggese and his wife Kathy at the Teatro Palapartenope, Fuorigrotta.
On Saturday, before the conference began, Evangelist Daniel Kolenda and his wife Rebekah had the opportunity to meet and encourage the leaders of many local churches that are so critical to the ongoing Kingdom work in the region.
About 2,000 people came to hear the Good News each night. Evangelist Kolenda preached salvation, healing, deliverance and the baptism in the Holy Spirit. It was a full Gospel package. We saw many people saved and healed over the course of the weekend – including some notable testimonies.
From there we traveled to Paris where Evangelist Kolenda had the privilege to minister for Pastors Nuno and Natalie Pedro at Charisma Church. The enthusiastic congregation responded wholeheartedly to the Gospel, and also to the call of God for ministry. This church is known for its remarkably diverse congregation (coming from more than 60 nations). Evangelist Kolenda said of the event, “You could feel a palpable hunger in the people. I felt they were putting a demand on the anointing and expecting great things from God.”
