Transforming Power

Since the Resurrection of Jesus, a wave of spiritual power has swept forward, bringing God’s new life to everything it touches. The power of God’s forgiveness, which sets us free; the power that enables us to forgive those who have hurt us; the power to resist what we know is wrong; the power of God’s Spirit, who brings us the new life of Jesus; the power of God’s love, which fills us with love for him and for others.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ … In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace … In him also we have obtained an inheritance.

“Every spiritual blessing” – now what sort of spiritual blessing would you like to have active in your life? Whatever it is, just remember that God’s blessings are given to us to bless us, certainly, but also to make us a blessing to others!

How can we know this power for ourselves? How can we discover this love of God which is able to transform our lives? Only one man who has dared to answer: “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.” Jesus is the only way by which our sins can be forgiven, and our right relationship with God the Father re-established. his death on the cross was the final sacrifice needed. Nothing else is required. his resurrection is the absolute proof that he is the Son of God. his Holy Spirit is our means of tapping into God’s transforming power. Live in the fullness of that power today!
